A Tudor home at rest, Christmas time

Posted on August 24, 2015 by Phillip Thompson | 0 comments

I've always loved homes at night. They're warm, alive, they seem to have a soul inside them. This was a commission of a Tudor home in New York. Ultimately a 14" x 17" finished piece, pen and ink, I was drawn back to it as one of three test cases for color. The other two were a Charleston mansion and a classic Chicago bungalow. Though I was happy with both of those--having seen this, I think the night scene wins the day. Coloring by the fantastic Claudio Naccari.
